Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 362  |  January 7, 2009

So, while I thought that my big birthday would come along with a big move to some fabulous highrise on the water, I ended up, well, in a smaller apartment downstairs in my building. Oh well, the air conditioning is a bit quieter and not as much sun comes into my bedroom in the morning. Baby steps.

As part of this downsizing, I did my civic duty and gave considerably to Goodwill. Or at least tried to. For two days in a row, the truck was filled and they actually denied by request to give to charity. Unreal. Then I ended up fishtailing on the freeway because my car was so weighed down. Not awesome. I have to find some second rate charity immediately.
