Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 250  |  September 17, 2008

So, tonight was my third Miami Spice indulgence in the past month or so. (This is basically like our restaurant week, but it runs for two months.) We let my friend Lorraine pick the venue and, since she's Asian, we obviously ended up at China Grill. $36 gourmet three course meals always seem like a great idea until you realize that wine really adds up and you also don't typically eat "Bananas in a Box" on Tuesday nights.

Between my dinner bill and the fact that Lehman Brothers has gone under, leaving me with approximately 20,000 fewer potential rich husbands than about a week ago, I'm back on a budget eating veggie burgers for lunch every day. Not awesome.
