Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 178  |  July 7, 2008

First off, sorry for the backlog...there were some server issues this week.

So Monday, I was at Publix on a very strategic mission: buy paper towels. However, the Haitian stockboy had other ideas. There must have been some sort of sales contest going on, b/c he literally chased me down the aisle trying to convince me to buy his "tow-i-let" paper. No thanks, I said. But it's on sale. Don't need it. But it is nice "tow-i-let" paper. I'm cool. But you'd be better with my "tow-i-let" paper. I finally had to throw this colander on my head and run away. Funny thing is, guess what I was out of when I finally got home...

The supermarket soothsayer strikes again...
