Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 147  |  June 6, 2008

My friend Jimmy from high school is in town visiting but, due to an unfortunate curb-stepping incident, he's on crutches with an ankle injury. We went to Domo Japones for dinner and, unbeknownest to me, they have the most enormous handicapped stairlift I have ever seen in my life. I'm pretty persuasive, but I my skills weren't good enough to convince Jimmy he needed to use it.

My friend Jules was also there celebrating her fiance Victor's birthday. We love Victor because his signature move is the Joey Gladstone..."cut it out." But for some reason, he never pulls off a strong finish...he just cuts, and cuts and cuts...

Check out the Lenny Kravitz painting in the background. What was he thinking wearing those god-awful white trash girl jeans in an image that could be around forever. Somebody call his stylist!
