Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 107  |  April 27, 2008

Today I was super annoyed with the reality of being a responsible adult. Sean Penn was recruiting people to get on a big bus with he and Ben Harper that leaves Monday on a cross country trek doing volunteer work and ending up in New Orleans for Jazzfest. I was this close to signing up except all the rest of my vacation days are allocated to weddings and I don't know if the "Dirty Hands Bus" makes for an acceptable work absence, even if the guy who used to bang madonna is writing your sick note.

Picks from the day: Gogol Bordello. It's what would happen if Axl Rose was a gypsy.

Beyond words: Not to sound like a total hippie, but seeing Roger Waters with all the flying pigs and Dark Side of the Moon surround sound, etc. was pretty close to being a spiritual experience.

Dis: All the robots. Just kidding...they were cool.
