Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 89  |  April 9, 2008

I'm in the throws of a terrible quandary. Namely, the mass exodus of many of my smart, professional friends from myspace to facebook. Or there are now those (regrettably enough, I am one of them) who are soooo popular, we're forced to maintain both (ha!). Or those who have just recently been convinced that we are beyond the age demographic being targeted by online sexual predators. This group always goes for facebook.

For me, it's all about allegiance and being faithful. "Tom" has given me four good years of mindless mid-day entertainment at work and numerous opportunities to "research" or online stalk if you will, targets of my affection. Though the thought is attractive, I'm not ready to break up with myspace for the younger, more attractive, wealthier option just yet. So if you've messaged me via facebook in the past week, give it time. It's not easy for me to be a cheater on a daily basis.
