Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 80  |  March 31, 2008

In all honesty, it typically takes a lot for me to really feel my age. But when MH told me that it was the 20th Anniversary of the release of New Kids on the Block’s “Hangin’ Tough,” that pretty much did it. Twenty years? Seriously? Twenty years since Jordan Knight’s falsetto graced the airwaves every third song and I paid $5 to see them amongst a Woodstock-esque throng of fourth graders at the Ohio State fair? I still remember every word to every song…C’mon everybody if you wanna take a chance. Just get on the floor and do the New Kids dance! Don’t worry ‘bout nothing cause it won’t take long. We’re gonna put you in a trace with our funky song!!! whistle sound

I’ll be out of the country Friday so PLEASE can someone TiVo their Today Show appearance for me?
