Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 57  |  March 8, 2008

Went to see the Spam Allstars play at a street festival in the Gables and was loving it that number one, there was a pretty cool crowd out and, number two, that Miracle Mile was closed off so no one driving while talking on their cell phone could run me overÖa feat that happens there nearly every day.

After the show, I met up with my friend MH on the beach for a drink where not only did we see Pete Wentz sans eyeliner, we also met some guy who shaved his head into male pattern baldness. He looked kind of like Wee Man from Jackass, but normal sized. He was doing what appeared to be choreographed dance routines to 80s songs with a guy who looked like the tall skinny kid from Road Trip. Dark Irish pubs donít exactly provide the optimal lighting for YouTube videos, so hopefully Iíll be able to doctor it enough for othersí enjoyment.

Thank goodness it was spring forward day so this spectacle didnít go on any longer than necessary. If this had happened on fall back day, there would have been some serious trouble.
