Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 51  |  March 2, 2008

One thing I forgot when I signed up for a 15-mile charity bike ride in the Everglades Ė Iím terribly afraid of alligators. Luckily, I walked away unscathed without being chased or eaten. Iíve had a hard enough time taming the Gators Iíve encountered in my personal life, I think Iíll steer clear of them in the wild from now on as well.

After I came back from my early morning nature adventure, I decided to grab lunch at Juice & Java, this cool little natural foods cafť near my building. Randomly, the only other person in the place was Owen Wilson. I donít usually bother celebrities when I see them out, but since he is shooting his new movie at the Sun-Sentinel, where I used to work, I kind of wanted to strike up a conversation. Every time I looked over, he just looked sad, so I didnít. Hansel, so hot right now. Hansel.
