Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 44  |  February 24, 2008
This photo was taken at a birthday party about 20 minutes before I lost my cell phone. As happy as I was in the picture, I was equally as sad when I realized my phone had fallen out of my purse in a cab. Given the situation, I was forced to entertain myself the old fashioned way…going door to door until I found friends who were home. Excruciating. This may sound cliché, but it really is hard to believe how dependant we have become on technology in such a relatively short amount of time. It seems like just yesterday I was pulling out my Motorola flip, a la Zac Morris, and spending 25 cents per minute for emergency calls. Good thing the bills were still going to Mom back then!
