Watch Me Turn 30, by Ashley N.
Question of the year: Is spending your late 20s living on South Beach and island-hopping the Caribbean as a career a) every responsible adult's fantasy or b) totally outlandish and ultimately unfulfilling for a semi-responsible adult who still places an abnormally high priority on fun? Perhaps the mere concept of what constitutes adulthood has been distorted due to my surroundings.

Through this blog, I hope to figure out what being "almost 30" really means to me...hopefully, before the big b-day next January.

Thanks goes to Holly C. for, first and foremost, agreeing to go on one of my press trips to the 'burbs of Fort Lauderdale and ultimately passing this site along to me.

DAY 8  |  January 19, 2008
Everyone has those friends in college who you expect to get married asap after graduation. Then probably a few you expect to be divorced at least twice before homecoming the following year. But in the past year, two of my best college friends who live here in South Florida have taken the plunge…one married, one newly engaged. I had some anxiety at first until they convinced me that getting engaged doesn’t mean you have to give up all of those late Friday nights spent at Vince Neil comeback shows, drinking margaritas and listening to the creator of Full House talk about how cool it was to hang out with Vanilla Ice…only when the in-laws are in town.
